Osu!
Oudom DY
Founder & Head Instructor
Oudom was born in Paris in France where he grew up.
He started Martial Arts when he was a teenager, with Shotokan Karate, getting a 3rd Dan Black Belt and competing at national level by being multiple times Paris Vice-Champion and France Vice-Champion by team.
Shortly after moving to London, he started to train in Kickboxing, getting a Black Belt and competing nationally and internationally by becoming British Champion and World Vice-Champion in 2019!
These days he still trains in Kickboxing and MMA (Mixed Martial Arts).
For him the practice of Martial Arts goes beyond executing strikes with punches, kicks, knees, elbows and succeeding at competition, it is about aiming to reach the unification of mind and body ('Budo'), with good mental health and physical robustness.
He also sees it as a form of meditation.
He spends his daytime in Financial Markets as Head of Commodities Quantitative Research for an investment bank in The City, and he is a Maths nerd since university where he graduated with a Master in Financial Maths and a Master in AI/Machine Learning.

About Kickboxing/Self Defence
Kickboxing at OD Dojo is a unique blend of several main styles of Martial Arts specialized in stand-up striking:
American Kickboxing (Semi Contact, Light Contact, Full Contact), Dutch/Japanese Kickboxing (K-1), Thai Kickboxing (Muay Thai), Karate and Jeet Kune Do.
We believe that each style has its strengths and it can be very effective to combine them together.
Dynamic footwork and kicking techniques are especially present in Karate and American Kickboxing which also gives a particular focus on Boxing combinations and head movement.
Particularly powerful kicking techniques with also low kicks and knees are present in Dutch/Japanese Kickboxing and Thai Kickboxing which also utilizes elbows.
Jeet Kune Do got devastating techniques such as the oblique kick or the side kick to the knee, efficient for both MMA and Self-Defence, and principles such as 'be like water'.
We teach the ability to strike with 8 points of contact (fists, feet or shins, knees, elbows) instead of only 2 in Boxing (fists) and 4 (fists, feet or shins) for most sport-oriented Martial Arts.
Structure of a class
A class will typically involve warm up, pad work, pair exercises to practice combinations, sparring in a controlled environment with protective equipment, and cool down.
Grading
We got a comprehensive grading system and syllabus up to Black Belt which can help to monitor your progress.
Progress to Black Belt level depends of the individual, how much they train, their personal growth while training, and other important factors.
But a good rule of thumb is it can be possible to get the much coveted Black Belt in about 4 years for a dedicated practitioner.
Grading is run every 4 months (3 times per year).
Competition
We can also help advanced students to prepare for competition at national and even international level.
